I do not support the creation of a bionic person. The reason for creating a bionic person would be to fill to some function of humans that we do not wish to perform. It would either be for the purpose of performing work, avoiding dangerous tasks or fighting. This is all said and good but it takes away from our own power and responsibilities. It may also create a secondary class of citizen. We as humans have a hard enough time treating people equally without having a bionic person that our science has created in order to be subservient to us. I do not think that our society is ready for bionic creations at this time.

Acupuncture as an effective energy medicine
I can speak from my own personal experiences on acupuncture as an effective energy medicine. I am sensitive to energy and I can feel exactly what is happening with the flow of energy in my body as each point is being activated. During needle insertion  I can tell when the energy between the needles is connecting and which needles the flow connects with. So, I realize that this is anecdotal however, I know that it is energy medicine.

Conclusions from Kirlian Photography
Until it is proven what specific energetic affect is being described by Kirlian photography I am not sure if we can draw conclusions. Only that there is some kind of energy effect occurring. I personally believe that it is evidence of our body's aura or the aura of the object being photographed.

Human intent as it affects health
Human intent is probably the most important aspect for health. The placebo effect is the most ever present aspect of scientific studies of health. About one third of the time a person can cause their own improvement by believing they are taking a beneficial medicine. Think of the phrase "rock bottom". To me that signifies a low point in which a person becomes "ready" to change. Before that moment improvements in a person's condition isn't possible until they "want" to change. Intention is everything ultimately in health.

Short Naps and Eat What You Don't Like

I think the two ideas share a similar core. Both concepts are counter intuitive to their assumed activities.

1. If you only have so many hours in the day to get things done then you can't waste any of that time.

2. When you are eating, the food that you eat should have a good taste.

So those are the very generalized assumptions. Now, the counter intuitive portion for for the first is that you should not waste time napping in order to have more time. However, the wisdom of a nap, cannot be denied. A nap is very refreshing and when someone is tired they will not produce the most or best work. Also, a person's long term mental and emotional fatigue can be easily restored through regular naps.

For the second conundrum, most people most likely don't eat foods that they do not like. If you have problems with weight loss, you most likely eat more food than you need to for your ideal body.

I Am Alive

I know I am a living system...

Defining something as "alive" is rather difficult owing to the fact that the word has many mutations of use and more than one quality which it can define. That being said, it is hard to know if one is alive. If I were to let go of the assumption that I am alive and pretend that there was something that I did not know what would I find?

"the condition that distinguishes animals and plants from inorganic matter, including the capacity for growth, reproduction, functional activity, and continual change preceding death."

"the existence of an individual human being or animal."

I pulled these off of a quick google search. I guess you could use these to assess what you are experiencing as life at this moment. From a Qi perspective though, everything has Qi flowing through it. Is Qi a definition of life?

Honestly though I would say that life is the ability to experience yourself and your environment. It's a level of consciousness but even a bacteria has an experience of being a bacteria. Whether or not it can remember it or even understand it is irrelevant. Does a rock experience itself or the surroundings in which it finds itself? Well if it does we can't really see a reaction from the rock of different stimulus that it experiences. Plants whither when pulled from soil so they are having a different reaction to experience.

Classical Physics

Newton's three laws and me

I like to create a metaphor for them in relationship to myself in my daily life.

1. If I'm sleeping I will stay that way until something makes me get up.
ie. This could be because I have a class or I have to study

2. When I'm working on studying I will keep on studying until an outside force affects me.
ie. If hunger pushes me to go and get sushi

3. By working towards improving my grades I am lowering my sanity.
ie. Studying herbs for too long and I loose contact with the world

Descartes spoke out of turn. While the idea of rationalizing and mentally dissecting everything to it's most basic aspect does seem appealing for the the purposes of understanding something if no attempt at reintegration of is made then we have separated the thing which we seek to understand from the rest of reality. Mental disintegration of any object does not make it any better. What is accomplished though, is a simplification for the benefit of the human mind. No one thing in reality was necessarily ever decide to exist separate from anything else. For example, take a house in it's entirety and begin ripping it apart in order to understand every aspect of it. Once you are done, can you put the house back together again? No, you can only rebuild it from what you remember and it will never be the same. Without the balance between holistic understanding of reality and a compartmentalized viewpoint we will never grasp the totality.

Chaos Theory

Ordered Chaos

Ordered chaos is like a flowing river. You can see it flow down the stream in an orderly fashion but within the stream there are counter-currents, areas or turbulent flow rapids down the river and calm glassy waters down stream. Within an apparent system of order, such as the weather, is an infinite system of chaos that all comes together to create seasons.

Fractals as patterns of complex systems

Fractal patterns seem to be the building "patterns" of life. From the self-repeating shape of broccoli to the layout of the Himalayan mountains fractals exist in nature all around us. While inherently chaotic, no one can argue that life itself lacks a system. A tree is always going to produce a tree of the same species and a duck cannot suddenly become a goose. There is a system to organisms, geography and the weather. However, it is a system with seemingly infinite pieces and variations. A pattern of infinite complexity.

Consciousness out of Chaos

One might say that the human brain is a highly chaotic organism. Even though a level of order occurs in thought process and controlling the bodies integral functions, it happens through a myriad of neuron connections and pathways. An individual's consciousness is inherently unique to that individual. For every experience available in life there are an impossible number of neural connections and patterns that occur. According to Sciencemag.org, consciousness is the exploration of all of the possible iterations of a neural network. Out of the chaos of thousands upon thousands of connections, merges a pattern of consciousness.

Vibrations

Does vibration mean life?

Based on the book "Power vs. Force", a vibration of zero means death. If you think about a vibration wave, it can only be a wave if it has a vibration or oscillation. Energy has to have energy to energy, right? We are made of energy. There is space between all of our subatomic particles which are constantly moving and shifting in and out of existence between pure energy and matter. There is space between our atoms and within all of this space is energy which is simultaneously pushing and pulling and vibrating. If these vibrations were to cease then our structure and nature would cease.

Personal Resonance and Qi...

Not only is our matter made up of Qi. There is energy which flows through and surrounds our bodies. We are usually only aware of this energy at a subconscious level. It comes to us as feelings and intuitions and yet we simply assume that feelings are the end of the rope. Down below those gut feelings is a connection to vibration and resonance on a multiple dimensional level. You can sense when something is not right with your health. So, you go to the doctor to get checked out. You can sense when something is "off" about a person.

Symmetry/ SuperSymmetry

Apparently we live in an asymmetrical world. There is not enough stuff in our universe in comparison to how much energy was released in the big bang. I think maybe that energy actually resides within the Higgs field. I feel that the Higgs field is like an ocean of energy that creates a field for matter to exist. It could literally be the field that contains the missing "dark energy".

The CP violation means that the balance of energy in the universe is out of alignment. The kaon particle is able to convert the charge of other particles during quantum reactions. It has the potential to explain the difference in apparent lack of anti-matter in the universe.

Energy/Matter & 4 fources

How has E=MC^2 affected me?

Well, other than allowing for beings to experience a matter universe, I would say that special relativity has affected everything everywhere. Having known about special relativity has not necessarily changed me. I have believed in energy being integral to my nature for a very long time.

The Four Forces
I consider the four forces a beautifully balanced system of imbalance. The imbalance created between the four forces allows differences in matter and energy to occur. There would be no differentiation in anything. No people, no planets or stars. If all of the forces were directly in proportion to each other then electrons would not be able to resist the pull of the nucleus. Gravity would be so strong that there would be no separation of any molecules.

Gravity's function is to keep large masses in relative position to each other.

Evidence of synchronicity? I am not really sure there ever can be such a thing. Synchronicity seems to be such a personal phenomenon it would be hard to really prove that a thing was not coincidence. One event happening in connection to one person with significance, to another, can be passed off as coincidence. I'm not really sure anybody really needs to prove synchronicity. Most often synchronistic moments are only intended for the person that receives them.
I do have a few incidences of synchronicities of my own. One time, while I driving, I remember thinking that I needed to call my friend that I hadn't talking to in a while. It was almost as if his image popped into my head. I called him within a minute and ,when he answered, he told me that it he had just settled into a meditation and had begun focusing on me while in meditation. Also, I used to watch a T.V. show that would have an episode with the perfect message for me to hear when I was feeling down. This happened almost ten times.
Not that I could ever give proof that there were interconnected occurrences or anything. I do not really need to. But, I do have experiences of them and that is proof enough for me.

We are all connected to the ebb and flow of energy around us through our sub conscious. This connects us to our surroundings, group consciousness and other knowledge. It is through this that allows synchronicity to work around us.

Uncertainty, causality and weird

Honestly, I don't feel the universe is very uncertain at all. In fact I believe it is rather literal. It seems that at the quantum level, what you focus on is what you get. Pretty simple and straightforward honestly. If you want to measure a quantum particle's position then it will give you that. If you want to measure a particle's momentum then that is what the particle shows you. to me that sounds rather certain. Maybe not as solid but rather certain.

Causality, the principle of cause and effect. It does not supposedly exist in the quantum. Maybe we do not understand the total cause and effect nature of the quantum world. Maybe a particle dissipates and reforms based on perception. Maybe, that is the cause. Maybe there is a more subtle underlying energy at play in the quantum world  at play. Maybe, it is because particles don't follow a linear progression of cause and effect.

The universe is not weird. As far as we know it has been there for a long time. We are made out of the universe. How can it be weird if it's if there is nothing else normal to compare it to?

The meaning of time

I've always felt that time was relative in general. At least from the human perspective, it is very relative. Yet, I did feel that time was static in relationship to other phenomenon. Now, after talking about some of the phenomenon in class, it has made me start to wonder about what time really is. I feel that humans measure time by comparing occurrences of things against other things to gain a static measuring stick. For instance the Japanese use the flow of water filling up a bamboo shoot to measure time. Scientists measure time by keeping track of radioactive decay. All of these things holds up well as long as our measuring sticks don't change. Now, I come to find that everything is subject to change based upon how big of a gravity field they are hanging out by. IF you start to think about it then time really is an illusion. It seems that the universe just has things happen and at times more or less of those things happen in comparison to more or less of other things.

Maybe "space" is just the higgs field and as matter occupies a portion of that space the natural energy in the higgs field is "used up' giving mass to the "object" thereby warping the shape of the higgs field(space) and causing a change in the motion of all particles within the event horizon of a "mass". If all particles were affected it would explain why time seems to travel differently near a "mass" because it's not time necessarily that is behaving differently it could simply be the particles are slowing down or speeding up in relationship to everything around them giving the illusion of time moving at a different speed.
